Ms. Zigtema graduated from Georgetown University with her degrees in International Business and Finance.  Following Georgetown, she returned home to Kansas where she obtained her law degree from the University of Kansas in 2007.  Ms Zigtema excelled in written and oral advocacy during her time at KU, winning awards in International Law Moot Court competitions.

Ms. Zigtema began practicing law in the Wichita Area with a private firm. While there, she expanded the firm to the Kansas City Area.  Ms. Zigtema opened her own practice in 2013.

Ms. Zigtema was selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2017 and 2018.  She has been selected as one of the Top 40 under 40 by the National Trial Lawyers Association for the last four years.  She is a board member and the continuing education committee chair for the Kansas Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys.  She is a member of the Earl O’Connor Inn of Court.  She is also a member of the Johnson County Bar Association, the Kansas Bar Association, and the Kansas Women Attorney’s Association. 

Ms. Zigtema also served on the Kansas Legislative Child Welfare Task Force working with others to make recommendations to improve investigation of allegations of abuse and keeping families together as they work through their difficulties.
